The Global Imams and Scholars Council (GISC) was established on the 9th of August 2019 by decree of The Global Imams Council (GIC) to serve as a vital framework for Islamic scholars and academics who have not yet been ordained as Imams but are eager to contribute to the global initiatives of The Global Imams Council.
Under the supervision of The Senior Imams Committee of The Global Imams Council, the GISC ensures alignment with the broader objectives of the parent council, maintaining consistency and coherence in its activities.
While the GISC operates with a degree of independence, it seeks prior approval for its initiatives from the Governing Board of The Global Imams Council (GIC). This structure allows the GISC to innovate and address contemporary challenges while staying true to the foundational principles of The Global Imams Council.
The Chairman of the GISC, appointed by The Global Imams Council, is endowed with a unique set of rights as outlined in the GIC Constitution, ensuring effective leadership and governance of the Council’s activities.
The Global Imams Council (GIC) is an independent and apolitical not-for-profit charity and NGO that adheres to the mainstream Islamic teachings founded upon the principles of The Holy Quran and Prophetic traditions.
The GIC operates in line with the directives of the prominent Islamic Seminaries and scholarly consensuses.
