The Muslim World League has welcomed a delegation consisting of GIC Vice President and the senior jurist of The Islamic Fatwa Council (IFC) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim al-Issa, Secretary General of The Muslim World League and President of the Organization of Muslim Scholars received The Eminent Grand Ayatollah Shaikh Fadhil al-Budairi and H.E. Imam Mohammad Tawhidi in Mecca on Thursday the 5th of January 2023.

The meeting revolved around the importance of solidifying the relationship between the Islamic Seminary of Najaf, Iraq, and the religious authorities within Saudi Arabia; as well as the broader Sunni Muslim world.

His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim al-Issa stressed on the significance of Islamic unity in the face of rising divisions and sectarianism within the Muslim world. His Excellency also discussed with The Grand Ayatollah Shaikh Fadhil al-Budairi paths for collaboration, including meetings between leading jurists of various Islamic sects and schools of thought.

All parties thanked each other for their efforts towards advancing peace in the interests of Islam and Muslims.
