November 4, 2023

On the 18th of April 2023, the President of The Global Imams Council hosted leaders of the Muslim Community in Canada. The event was hosted at The Islamic Center of Montreal, which is among the oldest Islamic organizations in Canada, and a pillar of the Muslim community in Quebec, that has been hosting this gathering for over 20 years.

The meeting was attended by the highest ranking Islamic Authorities in North America, followed by diplomats, directors of Islamic centres, and influential leaders of Muslim communities and organizations.

Two-thirds of all Canadian Muslims live in just two cities: Toronto and Montreal. In 2021, the recorded Muslim population in Quebec was 421,710, up from 243,430 a decade ago, a 73-per-cent jump. Given these numbers, only ten cities in Canada have more than 20,000 Muslims.
