In the wake of the Global Imams Council’s notable engagement at the European Parliament on November 28, 2023, Greek House Davos extended an invitation for the GIC to showcase its insights on a distinguished panel during the World Economic Forum’s 2024 Annual Meeting on January 15.

The GIC was featured prominently at the conference and set a historic precedent as the first Imams Council to participate in the World Economic Forum. The official Greek Delegation to Davos honored GIC Governing Member Imam Mohammad Tawhidi with access to government pavilions and diplomatic events.

During the forum, the GIC presented its endeavors in the formulation of a Peace Curriculum in collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for Global Ethics.

Subsequently, Dr. Mohammad al-Ali, CEO of the UAE think-tank TRENDS Research and Advisory, delivered an address, commending the GIC’s commitment to fostering peace, promoting coexistence, and steadfastly countering extremism and terrorism. He then presented the vice president of the GIC with an award.

The event received significant UAE media coverage, highlighting its significance and underscoring its alignment with the principles of the Abraham Accords.
