The Global Imams Council holds that education is the foundation of a more prosperous, secure, and equitable world. It equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to contribute meaningfully to their societies and to meet the challenges of an interconnected age.

The GIC is directly engaged in the development of peace curricula across the Muslim world and Europe. Most recently, the Council collaborated with the former President of Romania, The Honorable Emil Constantinescu, and the Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for Global Ethics to develop a peace curriculum designed for implementation in schools across the Middle East.

The GIC Governing Board was hosted at the Italian Parliament and at Sapienza University of Rome — the largest university in Europe — to present the Islamic foundations of the peace curriculum and its relevance to contemporary education.

The Council has also participated in sessions at the United Nations focused on the role of peace curricula in advancing nonviolence, conflict resolution, social justice, empathy, and mutual understanding as pillars of a more peaceful global order.

The GIC advocates for the integration of peace education programs, nonviolent communication training, conflict resolution methodologies, and human rights education into existing school curricula, community programs, and extracurricular activities — recognizing that these disciplines are not supplementary but essential to a complete education.

Through this work, the Global Imams Council seeks to empower individuals and communities to drive positive change, strengthen social cohesion, and foster a durable culture of peace.
