The Global Imams Council held its 2022 Vice Presidential Election in The Holy City of Najaf, Iraq, on the 25th of January 2022. Voting Stations opened from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Council Headquarters located at Al-Madinah Road, Najaf, Iraq, 54001. The voting was supervised and managed by GIC\’s Electoral Committee and Senior Imams Committee, and a total of 1328 votes were received by Imams and members of The Global Imams Council.

Declaration:
The Global Imams Council declares Imam Mohammad Tawhidi as the successful candidate in GIC’s 2022 Vice Presidential Election after acquiring 971 out of 1328 votes, equating to 73%. The inauguration date of the GIC’s new Vice President will take place 90 days following the election on the 25th of April 2022.
